We Hope He Will Do Better Naming His Children
Yesterday and today my son, for the first time in many months, has had a little pooping-on-the-potty success. I’d gone to the toy store to get some “rewards” and all I can say is, nothing like bribery to get you somewhere. So, today he got his “reward”. It was a mini stuffed animal triceratops and a mini puzzle. He immediately put it next to his stuffed stegosaurus, Stego, and gave it a name.
What else for a triceratops?

Horny.
Yep, Horny the triceratops. Gotta love that one. He’ll be hating that one in about 5 or 6 years.
Actually in 5 or 6 years he’ll like it even better. Do you know any 10 year olds. Potty and taboo humor like that is just this side of teen humor. You’re in big trouble.

Oh gosh. I guess you can’t exactly tell him “No” without having to explain it to him. That could just lead to … problems. Maybe suggest “Speary”?

Yes, perhaps if you start using a name repeatedly, he’ll adopt it instead of HORNY (and avoid any possible “why”s).
Is it bad that we named a cute/funky lamb my sister-in-law gave my son “Mutton”? I thought it was cute at the time, but later on, my son might be traumatized.

How funny!!! I guess you could tell him you think it looks more like a Bob or a Jerry? I like Jerry the triceratops.

Is it bad that I said to hubby yesterday that I was feeling a bit “triceratops-ish”? (the children were in the car so I didn’t want them to notice what I was saying).
(I had read him this blog entry so he knew what I was talking about.)
Btw, my son has just started paying attention to the Thomas the Train names and let’s just say his pronunciation of Percy isn’t very clear and sounds a little to close to vernacular for a female body part.
