So I’m back. It was nice to take a break. Seriously, I am thinking of giving it up. Not that it takes that much time, it’s just one more thing in my life I’m not sure I necessarily need.
Plus the little things in life seem to be taking over.
In short, what has happened since I last blogged:
My 85 year old MIL fell and blacked out (again), and had to go in the hospital and get a pacemaker put in, and then spent time in rehabilitation. Thankfully she is back home and doing well.
The opthamologist tried to remove my tear duct blockage and was unable to, so I will be getting a minor tear duct surgery soon.
I went out for a friend’s birthday, had a whisky sour, cheesecake with cherries, and fries with Old Bay on them. Came home and had a horrible allergic reaction to something I ate. I had hives all over, didn’t know which end to point at the toilet, thought I was going to have to go to the hospital and wanted to die. Saw an allergist this week for it and will be tested soon. I think it is the Old Bay (sniff). I love Old Bay.
I got our taxes done.
My parents came to visit and left.
We started mineral oil therapy for my son who, surreally, seems “fine” holding his bowels for 6 days. And it isn’t working particularly well. And it is totally gross and it absolutely sucks, I will spare you the details. And if this doesn’t work, we are being referred to a pediatric GI doctor. The subject of constipation has been “overblogged” by one particularly famous Mommy Blogger, so I don’t think I have much more I want to say on this other than UGH.
My son had an allergy appointment for the frightening “coughing fits” he has at some of his friends houses, which is apparently asthma and he is now on inhalers.
My printer/scanner died, just a bit over the 1 year warranty. Damn pieces of sh*t. I got another with a 3 year warranty.
Oh, and I totally lost it. Did I mention that I lost it yet? But I seem to be back to (semi-) normal. The little black raincloud that was raining on my head seems to have moved on.
So, how the hell are you?
I think pretty often that I should shut down, too. I mean, what are we in it for? Certainly not recognition. Not money. It started out as a way to blow words on a page and get my opinion off my chest, but now it seems more like just another chore. However, just when I feel like it’s time to quit, I find a reason to keep going.

sounds gross to say this and to even admit that I told this to my kid when he was a toddler, but hey, when they don’t go and are holding back, you get desperate. anyway, i told him if he didn’t start going, it would eventually back up inside of him and it would work it’s way back up and out of his mouth. he went the next day. good luck with that.

Was it an Epson.
I think I always seem to kill those, though they are always rated pretty good. This time, I got an AIO Canon (at least for all the basic office functions, not so much for prints) so that I can actually print stuff out of the computer instead of writing it down on a scrap of paper.
What is Old Bay?
I’m sorry for your son’s pain
. GI issues are always so uncomfortable, but it’s worse when it’s your kid
.

I’m sorry your son is having so many problems with constipation. My son has been dealing with that since he was an infant and i would be lucky to get him to go once a week. We used Docusate Sodium syrup for a while and it worked pretty well, but the doctor preferred for him not to use it because it’s known to cause some cramping. Though she did say it is perfectly safe. What she did suggest to use is either white grape juice or pear juice. For some rason those are the only ones that really seem to work, watered down or not. I tried them both and they work like a charm! At least it’s better than the more *ahem* invasive techniques. LOL! Hope this helps!
